An Embedded ArgMap
Embedding ArgMaps
This is the first test of an embedded ArgMap!
And the second! This is a rehearsal for LessWrong’s custom widgets which are a little bit more constrained in how the embedded argmap must be passed in. Only html within an <iframe srcdoc="..." sandbox="allow-scripts"> and nothing else is allowed.
That means there is opaque origin, no browser storage, no workers, and every load is cross-origin.
Let’s see whether it works:
The flagship by name (added 2026-09-19)
Since 2026-09-12 a widget can NAME a big map instead of carrying it: the shim sets DOC to a slug and the viewer fetches maps/<slug>.json from p1graph.org (378 KB for the comprehensive map, against the 6 KB widget). The two embeds below are the release shape: the whole “If Anyone Builds It, Everyone Dies” map, folded to its ten top-level nodes, opened on the title inference (?sel=link).
The plain iframe, same origin:
And the LessWrong rehearsal of the same map: the minted widget (embed/widgets/iabied-launch-2026-09-18.html, made with embed-snippet.mjs --doc iabied-comprehensive-en) fetched into a sandboxed srcdoc frame with LessWrong’s resize script appended, capped at 681px. The poster is the drawn placeholder until a flagship poster exists.
